Meet Up and Eat Up is a way to help parents and caregivers identify places where kids can gather for healthy, free summer meals at thousands of sites in Michigan. On this page you can learn more about getting involved with Michigan No Kid Hungry and also download free, customizable materials that help parents, caregivers and kids learn more about local Meet Up and Eat Up sites that serve healthy, free summer meals.
At its core, Michigan No Kid Hungry is about partnerships, and it only works when we leverage support from individuals and communities, along with the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Ultimately, our goal is to establish No Kid Hungry Chapters in every region of the state, so that we can match local and national resources to focus on community needs. Each chapter will work to expand outreach so that local families can learn about available opportunities, healthy food choices, and how to stretch their food dollars. There are many ways to get involved with Michigan No Kid Hungry and Meet Up and Eat Up sites in your community, including donations, site sponsorships, outreach assistance, development of regional No Kid Hungry chapters, assistance with training, and Meet Up and Eat Up site activities.
If you have ideas about how you want to help or want to know what you can do in your community, contact us at the address and phone number at the bottom of this page or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are eager to engage with all who are committed to ending childhood hunger in Michigan.
